The Axio Imager Z2 system is a fully motorized upright widefield microscope that provides fluorescence, brightfield and DIC (Differential Interference Contrast) multichannel imaging. Additionally, the system allows optical sectioning imaging based on structured illumination acquisition by means of ApoTome2.
The system is equipped with a CCD monochromatic digital camera (Axiocam HRm), for fluorescence imaging, and a CCD color digital camera (Axiocam HRc), for brightfield imaging. The ZEN Blue 3.2 software fully controls the motorized microscope and the cameras, enabling automated multichannel, tiled and optical section imaging.
Stereological studies are also possible using Stereo Investigator software.
ApoTome2
The ApoTome2 uses structured illumination to remove out-of-focus light during imaging. By projecting a moving grid structure into the focal plane of your specimen along with an automated scanning mechanism, the Apotome 3 automatically acquires and processes a series of digital images into one optical section with improved contrast and increased resolution.
